Phelan's panpank party

Tomorrow is Phelan's third birthday, but we celebrated today with a "panpank party" (pancake party).

It actually was not pancakes but this great recipe Isaac and Gretel have for French Toast: you fill a baking pan the night before with bread and the egg and milk mix you usually use for French Toast, then put the pan in the oven and leave it there overnight. In the morning you turn the oven on to bake it.

Phelan had two little friends from the neighbourhood, Declan and Owen, their parents, his Granne and Aunties, and his own parents and brother Tristan as guests.

Instead of birthday cake there was chocolate birthday cupcakes.

Phelan got lots of presents (including Spiderman underwear!) but the big gift was the Skuut bike, just like the one Declan got on his birthday last year.

Phelan knew exactly what to do with it.

Happy first day of spring!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Phelan!! What a fun party you had yesterday, what great presents you received, and it all looks like you had a wonderful time with your family and friends.

I was so glad your Gramme took pictures so I could see your happy face!

The bike is definitely cool but you know what took most of my attention? The hat! I have just got to get me one of those! :)

Barbara, it was a very fun party! And because it happened in the morning, we all had a wonderful day ahead of us too!

Alan, that's a cover for a bike helmet, and you're right, it is delightful. No doubt intended to entice kids to wear their helmets. Not sure where you get such a helmet cover, someplace that caters to kids I guess. His Mom might know...

Helmet covers my kids have were made by a Mompreneur I met at a craft show.

Everyone asks me about them, so I looked it up. They make them for adults, too - and they fit over ski helmets, hockey helmets or bike helmets.
